  1. FROM DAILY ART MUSE

  2. If you’re looking for some fresh ways to create 3-D forms in polymer clay, and learn some ‘a-ha!’ tips and tricks to improve the way you work making anything with this medium, then ‘Building Better Beads’ is an ideal workshop.

  3. Known for his perfectly executed and engineered beads and vessels, Dan is raising the bar for polymer clay artists and enthusiasts, challenging us to break the stigma by improving good work and making it ‘the best it can be.’ He’s traveling around the world helping polymer clay artists and enthusiasts refine their design, fabrication, and finishing techniques.

  4. I spent two days watching Dan Cormier work . . . In addition to the beautiful artistry of his designs, the man is a master of precision. This workshop is not really about building better beads - it’s about making better art.

  5. I do exhaustive research regarding polymer clay. Very often I see work that is good – great sense of color, style, design – but something stops it from being over-the-top terrific. Usually it is that the piece is not finished well. Cormier is determined to change that.

  8. When is a PowerPoint presentation not a simple slide show? When is the Skinner blend at its most amazing? When it’s ‘Beyond the Blend’ in the hands of Dan Cormier and Tracy Holmes. Dan has devised a new way to mix polymer colors, using a variation of the Skinner blend, so that the results are consistent every time. His variations can also make fascinating designs in the clay; these can be used as veneers for beads and other objects. The adjective “stunning” doesn’t begin to cover it. A wonderful, instructive evening! As a student of color, I found your ideas amazing and fascinating. Color is SUCH a complex subject, and you made it really easy to understand what you were doing with it. As an artist, color is something I deal with all the time -- and I can't wait to try these magic color things with polymer.
