Hello Again

It's been a while since Tracy's 'Day At The Beach' class in April.  In fact, with summer now here in full form where we live, you might think we've been just lounging at the beach ourselves since then. Not so. Actually, we've been kinda hunkered down, busy behind the scenes, at our computers, in the studio, working on a pile of projects. Because of how we work, we usually spend a lot of time developing ideas and concepts, immersing ourselves in them (being immersed by them?), then emerging back up again. So instead of doling things out in regular doses, we're more prone to sometimes long-ish and seemingly quiet stretches, followed by bigger jumps.
Here are a few of our latest leaps...
A New Home for the Sh.A.R.K. What Shark doesn't want place of its own? Just about a year after our Sheet Adjuster and Ruler Kit first entered Cutting Edge waters, this original tool (and the collection of templates and techniques that go with it) now has its own place on our website. Here we go into greater detail than ever before about how you can work with your ShARK to sheet, mix, and blend polymer clay, to simplify your processes, increase your precision, speed up your work flow, and do some pretty cool stuff you really can't do any other way.
A new Sh.A.R.K. The original black ShARK was designed to retrofit precisely on the fenders of a pasta machine, and because the Atlas 150 has always been our make and model of choice, that's where it fits best. Now we know not everyone uses the same machines, and over the past year, we've learned that just because you don't have an Atlas 150 doesn't mean you don't want a ShARK. You spoke, and we listened. After 'testing the water' with students during our recent teaching trip to Florida, Georgia, and NC (where the water is fine, by the way), we are pleased to welcome a great White ShARK to The Cutting Edge tool pool. With all the features and functionality of the original, the new White ShARK fits on Amaco, Makins, and Atlas 180 machines. If you use one of these models, your White ShARK is waiting...
A New HQ For TCE As part of the White ShARK launch, and because we were (over)due for some website Spring cleaning, we're debuting a new home page for The Cutting Edge, as the gateway to our growing line of original precision tools and techniques for polymer clay. Right now, it features The Peeler Collection and The Sh.A.R.K. Collection. It's also the (always open) front door to The Cutting Edge Store, where you'll find our complete line of tools, tutorials, and templates, on their own, or packaged in special combos for special savings.

Mission Accomplished Okay, I admit it: we were at the beach. One beautiful afternoon earlier this month, we wandered down to the ocean's edge, which seemed like a good spot to write a mission statement for our 'Edge.' We established the company in 2005 (though we'd imagined it for a while before that) so we figured it was time to get something down on (virtual) paper. We ended up with this. And, just for fun, we also did this. We invite you to take a look and learn a little more about us and our Cutting Edge (ad)venture. We did.
BE OUR GUEST One of our favourite things that came with the debut of this website was having visitors sign our Guestbook. It was a real kick reading all those little notes and thoughts and wishes from family and friends all over the world. Sadly, that first Guestbook got lost during a website rebuild, but happily, we have the data, and plan to work it back in to our site somehow, as an important archive our our early weeks on the web.
